Course record

Nice to know is that the course record of the 10 kilometer is held by Charles Koech (Kenya). He ran a nice time of 28:00 in 2006. The fastest woman ever at the 10 km in Leiden was Josephine Kimuyu (Kenya). She ran the course record in 2011 in 32:08. There is a bonus of  € 400,- at the finish for the first runner to improve the course record.

Competition Section

Competition license holders and runners who can demonstrate that they have run faster in 2019 or in 2020 than 38 minutes (men) and 42 minutes (woman) are allowed to start in the competition section. We want to check your time, so mention the name of the website where we can find your end time.

The Pacers

This year, again, there are pacing teams in Leiden. Pacers are experienced marathon and / or ultralopers who can run a very flat schedule. Along the way, they drag you through difficult moments and give tips and advice along the way to make your race a success. Following a pacer costs nothing extra and you do not have to register. They are recognizable by bright yellow shirts and a balloon with the target time. The pacers getting together 30 minutes before the starting signal in the starting area at the head of Breestraat.
